PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Senior thrower Brandon Kaplan and sophomore sprinter/hurdler Trystan Biller placed first in their respective events in the Empire 8 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Nazareth's Golisano Training Center. The Cardinals finished fourth as a team with 76 points, behind Utica (81), SUNY Brockport (140) and SUNY Geneseo (222).
Kaplan shattered school and meet records in the weight throw with a mark of 19.16 meters to claim his second straight E8 Indoor title in the event. Nazareth's Luis Rivera held the previous conference championship record in the event with a mark of 18.84 meters, which he recorded in 2016.
Biller claimed his first E8 Indoor title with a personal-best time of 8.23 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. His time also marked the third-fastest in the event in program history.

Junior Jace Stuart broke his school record in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:39.39.

Freshman Elijah Burnley placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.03.
Men's Heptathlon

Freshman London Premo placed fifth with a score of 4,139, the fifth-highest mark in program history. He placed second in the 1,000-meter dash with a time of 2:53.68 and third in the shot put with a throw of 10.73 meters.
