Kaplan Sets School Weight Throw Record In RIT Invite

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's track and field team continued the indoor season on Friday night, competing in the RIT Invitational. 

Senior thrower Brandon Kaplan headlined the event for the Cardinals, setting the school record in the weight throw with a first-place throw of 18.82 meters. That mark also ranks among the top-10 in Division III this season. 

Track Highlights

  • Sophomore Trystan Biller placed first and qualified for the regional meet with a time of 8.47 seconds. 

  • Sophomore Corinthian Reed won the 200-meter event with a time of 22.62 and placed second in the 400-meter run at 50.89 seconds. 

  • Junior Jace Stuart placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.41. 

Field Highlights

  • Sophomore Oren Welch placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.45 meters. 

  • Junior David Argentieri placed sixth in the triple jump, logging a mark of 12.72 meters.
