Women's Ice Hockey Falls 2-1 At SUNY Canton

CANTON, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's ice hockey team fell 2-1 on the road to SUNY Canton on Thursday. The Cardinals dropped to 4-9-1 overall, while the Roos improved to 9-4-1.

How it Happened

Both teams had chances in the opening period, with the Cardinals recording eight shots and the Roos nine, but strong defensive play on both sides kept the game scoreless after one.

Just over two minutes into the second period, the Cardinals broke through as Erin Lantry and Casey Turek set up Cameran Evans, who fired home the game's first goal. Seven minutes later, the Roos answered with a power-play goal from Anna Pavlasova to tie the game.

With five minutes remaining in regulation, Riley Andzel scored the go-ahead goal to lift Canton to the win.

  • Goaltender Brynn Bacak made 32 saves, marking her eighth game this season with 30 or more saves.
