Women's Tennis Downs Sage 7-0

ALBANY, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's tennis team swept Russell Sage College in singles and doubles on Saturday for a 7-0 victory. 

The Cardinals (4-1, 4-0 Empire 8) have won four straight matches since falling 4-3 to SUNY Cortland to start the season.

Doubles Action 

Seniors Lilly Renzi and Eliana Kelly recorded their second win as partners, 6-0 over Cami Lamora and Annabella Putnam.

Senior Tiana Buttino and junior Isabella Busch teamed up for the first time this season. They recorded a 6-0 victory over Amber Elk and Katie Snell. 

Freshman Adriana Colafranceschi and junior Maddy Langley also won their second win as a duo, blanking Emma Brown and Mackenzie Clogston. 

The doubles sweep marked the Cardinals' second of the weekend. 

Singles Action

Singles 1: Renzi def. Putnam 6-1, 6-0

  • Renzi improved to 3-2 overall with the win. 

Singles 2: Colafranceschi def. Lamora 6-1, 6-0

  • Colafranceschi improved to 2-3 with the victory. 

Singles 3: Buttino def. Snell 6-1, 6-4

  • The match marked Buttino's first in singles action this season. 

Singles 4: Busch def. Elk 6-0, 6-0

  • Busch moved to 4-1 overall with her fourth consecutive win. 

Singles 5: Paige Kopolow (SJF) def. Clogston 6-0, 6-1

  • Kopolow improved to 3-2 with the win. 

Singles 6: Anna Exford (SJF) def. Emma Brown 6-0, 6-0

  • Exford won her second consecutive singles match and improved to 4-1.
