Women's Soccer Scores Nine Goals; Rolls Past SUNY Poly

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's soccer team scored nine goals to match its most in a game since at least 1999 in a rout of SUNY Poly on Saturday night at Growney Stadium.

The Cardinals improved to 4-3-1 overall (3-0-1 Empire 8) with the 9-0 thrashing of the Wildcats, who dropped to 1-7-1 (0-3-0 Empire 8).

Sophomore defender Abby Dorunda and freshman forward Ava Quintern led Fisher with two goals apiece. Quintern's goals marked the first of her collegiate career.

How It Happened
The Cardinals struck early, with Carolyn Rowe finding the net just 2:13 into the match to open the scoring.

Fisher continued to pour it on, as Dorunda added a second goal at 11:25, assisted by Madelyn Wania, and Carli Maltbie made it 3–0 in the 18th minute off a pass from Ryann Dauksza.

Before halftime, Quintern scored twice (32:45 and 36:52) and Olivia Hogan converted a penalty kick in the 42nd minute to give the Cardinals a commanding 6–0 lead at intermission.

The second half saw three more goals for Fisher: Dorunda tallied her second at 47:25, Emily Woolingham netted one of her own at 62:57 and Olivia Kalil capped the scoring in the 82nd minute.

Over the full 90 minutes, the Cardinals outshot SUNY Poly 47–0, including 27 shots on target. SUNY Poly goalkeeper Samantha Barrett finished with 18 saves in net.
