PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher field hockey team powered past Marywood for a dominating 4-1 victory at Growney Stadium on Sunday afternoon, securing its second win of the season.
How it Happened

Just above five minutes in, Sam Current deflected a shot from Alison Taplin to open the scoring. Three minutes later, Taplin got credit for another assist when Holly Stuart tapped in a shot on a penalty corner.

The Cardinals maintained their momentum during the second quarter when Current buried her second goal of the contest on a perfect feed from Mary Kate McPhee to give the Cardinals a three-goal lead.

Ten minutes into the third quarter, Stuart found Katie Schirrmacher in the circle, where she buried Fisher's fourth and final tally of the day.

Marywood got on the board late in the third quarter, but the Cardinals' defense held strong the rest of the way and locked up the 4-1 victory.
