PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Clarkson University in its home opener on Sunday afternoon at Growney Stadium. The Cardinals dropped to 0-2 on the season, while the Golden Knights moved to 1-0-1.

Clarkson scored two goals in the first 20 minutes of play, with Rolland Paul starting the scoring 3:55 seconds in on an assist from Josh Baraka. Paul assisted Noah Partenza on Clarkson's second goal about 16 minutes later.

The Cardinals had few offensive chances in the first half, as the Golden Knights held them to three shots (two on goal).

Fifth-year senior Blake Petocchi scored Fisher's first goal of the season late in the second half, burying a bending, long-distance free kick in the top right corner.
