ITHACA, N.Y. – Senior setter Reilly Morrow amassed 47 assists and three players slammed double-digit kills as the St. John Fisher women's volleyball team held off John Carroll in five sets on Saturday afternoon to complete a 2-1 opening weekend in the Bomber Invite.

The Cardinals struggled in a 25-14 first-set loss but got their offense going in the second frame, hitting over .400 to even the match. Junior Kaylene Noble (seven kills) and freshman Kalyna Dannenberg (five kills) led Fisher in the 25-14 win in set No. 2.

Behind six more kills from Noble, the Cardinals dominated the third set, 25-16. Fisher went on a 6-0 run early to take control.

John Carroll forced a fifth set with a 25-23 victory in a back-and-forth fourth set in which neither team led by more than four points.

Dannenberg had three kills as the Cardinals prevailed 16-14 in the fifth set. Fisher scored the final two points after the Blue Streaks tied the set at 14.

Morrow's 47 assists, three shy of her career high, marked her most in a match since she had 46 in a win over Geneseo last November. She's had 40 or more in 17 matches as a Cardinal.

Noble led all players with 17 kills in the match. Over three contests in the Bomber Invite, she slammed 43 kills while hitting nearly .280.

Dannenberg (12) and sophomore Lydia Fraser (13) also had double-digit kills for the Cardinals.

Senior Ana Gutman scattered nine kills throughout the match while hitting .500. She hit over .300 in all three of Fisher's season-opening matches.

Fraser matched her career high with five of Fisher's 12 service aces. Morrow and senior Isabella Mahar each had three.

Senior Madalyn Bouton led the Cardinals with three total blocks.

Senior libero Kiera Hartpence recorded a match-high 14 digs.
