ALFRED, N.Y. – Senior Brady Mason tied his career high with five goals and reached 100 for his career to lead the St. John Fisher men's lacrosse team past Alfred 14-7 on Saturday afternoon at Yunevich Stadium.
The Cardinals, winners of three consecutive games, improved to 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the Empire 8 with the victory. Alfred, which has lost eight straight games to Fisher, dropped to 4-4 (2-1 Empire 8).
How It Happened
The teams traded goals early and were tied 3-3 after the first quarter. From there, it was all Fisher. The Cardinals shut out Alfred in the second quarter and used a seven-goal run to take a commanding 10-3 lead into halftime.
Mason scored four of his five goals in the first half, while senior Colin Blakeslee and sophomore Sean Donaldson each added two during Fisher's dominant stretch in the second quarter. Junior Brett Seaman and freshman JP Revitte had the Cardinals' other two first-half tallies.
The Cardinals outscored Alfred 4-1 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 14-4. Mason, Blakeslee, senior Braeden McNeill and sophomore Robbie Salit scored for the Cardinals in the quarter.
