No. 12 Men's Volleyball Sweeps Pair Of Non-Conference Opponents Saturday

UTICA, N.Y. – The No. 12 St. John Fisher men's volleyball team swept SUNY Poly and Emmanuel College (Mass.) on Saturday afternoon at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field House. 

The Cardinals improved to 20-6 overall with the non-conference victories and pushed their winning streak to four matches. 

Match 1: St. John Fisher 3, SUNY Poly 0

  • The Cardinals won the first set 25-16, the second 25-21 and the third 27-25. They slammed 50 kills and logged a season-high .456 hitting percentage. 

  • Senior Ian Rauh and Sonepith Keoviengsamay led the Cardinals with 11 kills. Rauh hit a season-best .786, while Keoviengsamay hit .381. 

  • Junior Casey Jackson amassed six kills and hit. 750. 

  • Rauh also led the team with five blocks. Senior Evan Ingerick had three, and fellow senior Trace La Robardiere had two. 

  • Ingerick tallied a match-best 27 assists; senior Gavin Newman had 10. 

  • La Robardiere led the Cardinals with a match-best nine digs. Ingerick recorded seven. 

Match 2: St. John Fisher 3, Emmanuel 0

  • The Cardinals won all three sets by six or more points, as they took the first 25-18, the second 25-19 and the third 25-16. 

  • Freshman Coleton Welter led the Cardinals with nine kills and hit .412. 

  • Junior Gabe La Robardiere slammed seven kills and had two service aces. 

  • Newman recorded 27 assists and tied his season-high with five blocks. 

  • Rauh recorded six kills and racked up nine blocks, two shy of his career high. He has had nine or more blocks in three of his last four matches (he had 11 against Barry University on March 8). 

  • Trace La Robardiere led the Cardinals with seven digs.
