The Cardinals finished 12-8 overall and went 8-0 against E8 opponents (6-0 in the regular season).

The Cardinals beat Endicott College 17-8 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 1 Middlebury, which went on to win the Division III national championship.

Records and Streaks

  • The Cardinals received votes in the USA Lacrosse Magazine preseason top-20 poll

  • The Cardinals have one of the longest conference winning streaks in the country entering the 2025 season. Their stretch of 54 E8 victories – including regular season and postseason games – ranks just outside the top five all-time in Division III history.

  • The Cardinals have 14 consecutive winning seasons, tied for the seventh-longest active streak in Division III.

  • The Cardinals have won 12 straight Empire 8 titles, by far the longest run of E8 titles in conference history. No other program in E8 history has won more than two consecutive conference titles.

  • The Cardinals are 187-56 under head coach Linda Michele, who became the program's head coach before the 2012 season.

Key Returners

The Cardinals return 29 players (nine starters) from last year's team, including three USA Lacrosse Magazine preseason All-Americans.

  • Sydney Carpenter (Midfield, preseason second-team All-American): A two-time All-American and two-time E8 Offensive Player of the Year, Carpenter enters her senior season already considered as arguably the best player in Fisher history.  She ranks sixth all-time in goals (136), third in assists (90), fourth in points (226) and first in draw controls (426, most in E8 history). Last year, the three-time Empire 8 first-team selection set career highs in goals (57) and points (86).

  • Maddie Lowney (Defense, preseason third-team All-American): The 2024 Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year, Lowney has caused 10 turnovers and picked up 111 ground balls over the last two seasons. She earned first-team All-E8 honors as a sophomore last year and as a freshman in 2023.

  • Hanna Kumpf (Midfield, preseason honorable mention All-American): Kumpf, a senior, finished second on the team in goals (38) and points (59) and third in assists (21) en route to first-team All-E8 honors last season for the second time in her collegiate career. She was also named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region Second Team.
