PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher men's soccer defender/midfielder Jacob McGinnis has earned third-team United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region honors for the 2025 season. 

McGinnis, a fifth-year athletic performance major with a minor in psychology, has compiled a 3.410 cumulative grade point average during his time at Fisher. 

McGinnis was named a fourth-team United Soccer Coaches All-Region performer earlier this month and a first-team All-Empire 8 selection in November. He helped lead a Fisher defense that allowed just 18 goals and recorded seven shutouts during Empire 8 regular-season play in 2025. The Cardinals surrendered just one goal during a 6-1-1 October stretch that got them into the E8 Tournament as the No. 4 seed. 

The Cardinals finished the year 6-9-2 overall and 6-3-2 in E8 regular-season play.
