PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Six St. John Fisher University men's soccer players have earned All-Empire 8 Conference honors for the 2025 season.
The Cardinals had two players named to the first team – fifth-year senior midfielder/defender Jacob McGinnis and senior midfielder/defender Nick Rippe. Freshman goalkeeper Parker Stusek garnered second-team honors, while junior forward Jack Tamburino, senior midfielder Reese Powers and senior defender Blake Petocchi landed third-team recognition.
Senior defender Connor Dziulko was selected as St. John Fisher's representative on the conference's "Tomorrow's Leaders Team." The Tomorrow's Leaders Team recognizes a student-athlete from each E8 team who has demonstrated leadership in competition, in the classroom and in their community.
McGinnis, the leader of the Cardinals' defense this season, has earned All-Empire 8 honors in each of the last three years. This marks the second time he's been selected to the first team.
A first-time All-Empire 8 honoree, Rippe played and started in 16 games this season. He scored his first collegiate goal in the Cardinals' 2-0 victory over rival Nazareth on Oct. 29.
With his selection, Stusek extended the Cardinals' streak with an All-Empire 8 goalkeeper to six years. He played and started in 15 games during his impressive rookie season, making 63 saves and recording seven shutouts, tied for the most in the conference.
Tamburino, a second-team All-Empire 8 selection last year, led the Cardinals with five goals and 10 points this season.
Powers, now a two-time All-E8 third-team selection, set career highs in goals (4) and total points (8).
Petocchi had a career-high six points on a goal and four assists. This marks the first time he's earned All-E8 honors.
The Cardinals finished the season 6-9-2 overall (6-3-2 Empire 8 reg. season).
