ASTON, PA – The St. John Fisher women's ice hockey team (2-0) recorded the first shutout victory in program history on Saturday, topping Neumann University (0-2) 2-0 to complete the weekend sweep.
How it Happened
After a scoreless opening period, freshman Nicole Doeringer scored her first collegiate goal on an assist from sophomore Cordelia Wemyss to put Fisher ahead just over six minutes into the second period.
The Cardinals went ahead 2-0 later in the period when freshman Ellie Pranter finished a feed from Eibhleann Knox for her first collegiate goal.
The Cardinals dedicated the game from start to finish, recording 40 shots to Neumann's 17. Freshman goaltender Brynn Bacak made 17 saves in the shutout.
