PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's soccer team recorded its third consecutive victory on Saturday evening with a 3-0 win over the Russell Sage Gators at Growney Stadium.
The Cardinals, 6-3-2 overall, improved to 5-0-1 in the Empire 8 Conference, which they currently lead by one point. SUNY Brockport (7-0-3, 5-0 E8) sits in second place with 15 points. 
The Cardinals face the Golden Eagles next Saturday, Oct. 11, at Growney Stadium. 
How It Happened
Senior forward Brooklyn Drago scored her second goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 35th minute to begin the scoring. The Cardinals controlled possession from the jump, allowing Sage to attempt just one shot in the first 45 minutes and three total for the game. 
Junior midfielder Francesca Logrippo put Fisher ahead 2-0 in the 78th minute with her first goal of the year. About eight minutes later, sophomore forward Emily Woolingham tallied her team-leading fifth goal of the season on a penalty kick to make the score 3-0. 
St. John Fisher senior goalkeeper Avery Byrnes made two saves in the shutout victory.

	Byrnes notched her fourth total shutout of the season. She hasn't given up a goal in her last six appearances.

	Since their 3-2 loss to the University of Rochester on Sept. 16, the Cardinals have outscored their five opponents 14-0.

	Woolingham now leads the Cardinals in both goals (5) and points (14).
