Noble Leads Women's Volleyball To Sweep Of Utica

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Junior outside hitter Kaylene Noble slammed 18 kills while hitting .429 to lead the St. John Fisher women's volleyball team to a sweep of Utica (10-16, 2-6 Empire 8) on Friday night at Manning and Napier Varsity Gym.

The Cardinals (23-1, 8-0 Empire 8) won their 23rd consecutive match and recorded their 15th straight sweep with the victory. Both of those respective streaks are the longest in program history during the rally scoring era.

Fisher remains tied with East Texas Baptist for the longest active winning streak in Division III.

How It Happened

Noble couldn't be stopped from the get-go, slamming six kills while hitting .600 in the first set to lead the Cardinals to a 25-16 victory. She recorded three of those kills during the Cardinals' 5-0 run to end the frame.

The Cardinals took the second set 25-17 behind five more kills from Noble, who hit .333 in the frame. Freshman Kalyna Dannenber contributed four kills while hitting .375.

Noble ended her tear through the Pioneers with seven kills, one fewer than Utica's kill leader had in the entire match, as Fisher finished off the sweep with a 25-15 victory in the third set. Noble ended the set with a .385 hitting percentage.
