Field Hockey Falls To Kean

UNION, N.J. – The St. John Fisher field hockey team suffered a 5-1 non-league setback to Kean University on Saturday, dropping to 6-5 on the season.

How It Happened

  • Kean opened the scoring in the first quarter when Shannon Conroy tapped in a rebound at 13:20.

  • Fisher answered less than four minutes into the second quarter as junior Mary Kate McPhee tied the game with a blast from the top of the circle. But the Cougars quickly swung the game after that, scoring three times before halftime. Conroy netted her second of the day at 18:44, and Jazmyne Frack and Lilly Fried followed with tallies later in the quarter to make it 4-1.

  • Kean added one more goal early in the third quarter from Sophia Candeloro to cap the scoring.

Game Notes

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Morgan Parrinello made a career-high 13 saves while being peppered with 18 on-target shots.

  • McPhee's goal marked her fifth of the season.
