HARTFORD, Conn. – In its final non-conference contest of the season, the St. John Fisher men's soccer (2-3-4) team lost 1-0 to Trinity College (Conn.) early Saturday afternoon at Trinity Soccer Field.
Three of the Cardinals' nine games so far this season have been decided by one goal. They will play eight straight Empire 8 opponents in October to close the regular season.
Trinity's Jack Murphy scored about four minutes in on an assist from Owen McDermott, and the Bantams held on the rest of the way. The Cardinals registered 12 shots, including attempts on goal from Nick Rippe, Sam Swanger, Trevor Heschke, Joey Avallone and Jack Tamburino.
Cardinals goalkeeper Christian Burkhart made five saves, one shy of his career-high six.
