Kenyon, Spelman Score Twice As Women's Soccer Downs SUNY Poly

UTICA, N.Y. – Seniors Emma Spelman and Kyra Kenyon scored twice as the St. John Fisher women's soccer team dominated SUNY Poly 7-1 at Wildcat Field on Saturday afternoon. 

The Cardinals (5-3-1) have won two straight games and have outscored their opponents 9-1 in those contests. They've won three of their first four Empire 8 games and will enter October trailing SUNY Brockport by a half-game in the league standings. 

Game Notes

  • The Cardinals scored the first four goals in the contest, including three in the first half. They added four more in the second. 

  • Spelman has scored multiple goals in two games this season. She's recorded multiple points in four contests. 

  • Spelman has a career-high five goals through nine games. 

  • Kenyon recorded her third career multi-goal game and first since her freshman season (2021). 

  • Junior Ryann Dauksza has scored goals in back-to-back games. She also recorded an assist against SUNY Poly. 

  • Sophomore Francesca Logrippo and freshman Emily Woolingham scored their second goals of the season. 

  • Freshman Olivia Kalil recorded her first career point with an assist in the first half on Woolingham's goal. 

  • Junior Carmen Jorgensen also recorded her first career point, assisting Kenyon on her second goal late in the second half. 

  • The Cardinals finished with a 22-2 advantage in shots.
