PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team had its two-game winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon, falling 2-0 to RPI at Growney Stadium.
The Cardinals, who won two of their three games this week, fell to 2-5 (0-0 Empire 8). RPI improved to 3-3 and won its second straight contest.
Emily Dubord gave RPI a 1-0 lead early in the second period with an unassisted goal. In the third, Sophia Brown made it 2-0 on an assist from Ria Patel.
The Cardinals had several chances to get on the board but couldn't convert. They outshot RPI 15-10 overall, putting 10 shots on net to RPI's seven.
Freshman goalkeeper Morgan Parrinello, in her first collegiate start, made five saves for Fisher. RPI keeper Tess Garchinsky made ten saves.
Senior defender Selena Emery recorded a defensive save for Fisher.
