PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University softball team swept away Nazareth in a doubleheader down the street on Thursday, winning the games 7-1 and 10-1. 

GAME 1: FISHER 7, NAZARETH 1

Fisher won game one behind three RBI from senior Kelly Cournoyer, who walked with the bases loaded in the first to make it 2-0 before knocking in two with a fourth-inning single. Juniors Maddie Donlin, Katie Mannis and Cassidy Evanetski all had RBI as well, with Evanetski going three-for-four in the game.

Freshman CC Holmes earned the win with six innings of relief, allowing six hits and just one earned run while striking out five. 

GAME 2: FISHER 10, NAZARETH 1 (5 INNINGS)

In a run-rule shortened contest, the Cardinals were led by Evanetski, who homered and drove in four RBI in the game. Cournoyer continued her good day, plating two. Freshman Taylor Shackleton had two hits, an RBI, and scored twice.

In the circle, junior Cassidy Ormond won her 12th game, allowing three hits and an earned run while striking out eight in a five inning complete game.

Fisher continues play on Friday when it travels to Houghton for a doubleheader beginning at 4 P.M.
