PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's lacrosse team were at home on Wednesday to take on no. 8 ranked Union College. A high scoring third quarter by the Garnet Chargers was the difference, as the Cardinals fell 11-6.
Fisher fell behind 3-0 before
Brett Seaman converted an opportunity to get the team on the board and cut the deficit to two. In the second frame, there was just one goal scored by either team until the final moments of the first half.

In the second half, Union began to pull away. After a
Colin Blakeslee goal brought the score to 5-3, the Garnet Chargers rattled off four straight goals to make the score 9-3.
Dugan Doeblin stopped the run with three seconds to play in the quarter and then to start the fourth, Katon Piconi added the teams fifth goal of the afternoon.
Ethan Kesselring tallied his first goal of the day on a man up opportunity, but the team fell by a finals core of 11-6.
Piconi finished the day with one goal and one assist on three shots.
Joe Urlacher was strong defensively, causing seven turnovers and grabbing a pair of ground balls.
Ben Hammond earned the loss after allowing 11 goals, but made 11 saves in 60 minutes of action.
Up next for the Cardinals is the regular season finale against Utica University on the road. The matchup is set to start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.
