CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University baseball team beat Keuka by run-rule on Saturday, 10-0, on the campus of Finger Lakes Community College.
The number nine hitter, junior center fielder Jimmy McArdle, made the most noise on the day, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, including a fourth inning inside-the-park home run that gave him his first four-bagger since 2022. Senior third baseman James Murphy also knocked in three runs, all on a double in the second that made it 7-0. Sophomore second baseman Jake Crantz had two hits and an RBI.
On the mound, sophomore Ethan Fulton, coming off being named Empire 8 Pitcher of the Week, again had a great day, allowing just two hits while striking out a career-high 12 hitters- the most for a Cardinal all season- in just five innings of work. Sophomore Conner Walker worked the final two innings, allowing no hits while striking out four.
Fisher is now 8-1 in conference games this season, and hasn't lost to an Empire 8 opponent since their conference opener against Russell Sage on March 26.
The Cardinals will conclude their series with Keuka on Monday with a doubleheader at FLCC. Game 1 is 3 p.m.
