MEMPHIS, TN – The St. John Fisher University men's lacrosse team rounded out their spring break trip with a matchup against Rhodes College. Six goals in the first quarter proved to be enough, but the Cardinals helped the team cruise to a 20-4 victory and move the team back to .500 at 3-3.
Brett Seaman got the scoring started just 45 second in, putting the team up 1-0. From there,
Jordan Leuze added two scores, and
Brady Mason and
Braeden McNeill scored to make it 5-0 with 6:02 to play. The Lynx knocked in their first of the day, but a minute later
Matthew Kemmis recorded his first of the game to give Fisher a 6-1 advantage after one quarter of play. Not much changed in the second frame other then the goal scorers for Fisher. Kemmis assisted on goals by
Dugan Doeblin and
Sean Donaldson to kick it off, and in between scored by Rhodes, Seaman and Donaldson each added to their totals on the day, while
Timmy Salit recorded his first score of the game. Heading into the break, the Cardinals were in front 11-3. Fisher maintained their pressure in the second half, scoring eight unanswered goals to take a 19-3 lead before another opposition goal. Leuze and Mason each added a pair, while Donaldson and
Ethan Kesselring chipped in one a piece as well.
In total, 11 Cardinals scored goals. Leuze led the way with four goals and one assists to lead the team with five points. Mason and Donaldson each recorded hat tricks, and Seaman and
Kyler Ringgold each recorded a brace.
Ben Hammond earned the win, playing 45 minutes and making eight saves.
