MEMPHIS, TN – The St. John Fisher University men's lacrosse team opened its spring break trip to Tennessee with a 21-11 win against Albion College on Tuesday.
The Cardinals never trailed, taking an early lead on a goal by sophomore Brett Seaman and never looking back. They scored six goals in the first three quarters and were outscored only in the final quarter, when most of the team's regulars had been removed.
Senior Matthew Kemmis led Fisher with five points on four goals and an assist. Seaman (3 goals, 1 assist), junior Brady Mason (2 goals, 2 assists), and senior Timmy Salit (1 goal, 3 assists) had four points. Senior Logan Grom led the team with 13 groundballs and was 15-16 in faceoffs, just ahead of sophomore Aidan Smith (12 groundballs, 13-14 faceoffs).
In goal, senior Ben Hammond made six saves in 45 minutes to earn the win.
The Cardinals continue their Tennessee trip on Friday, March 8, at host Rhodes College. Gametime is 7:00 PM.
