Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men’s Lacrosse falls to RIT, 17-11

HENRIETTA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's lacrosse team fell to nationally-ranked RIT on Wednesday, 17-11.

In a game initially scheduled to be played at St. John Fisher but moved to RIT due to the threat of severe weather, the Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by junior Colin Blakeslee in the first minute of the game. The Tigers came back to take the lead with two goals of their own, but the Cardinals then tied it on a score by senior Matthew Kemmis with just under eight minutes left in the first quarter, 2-2.

RIT soon regained the lead, however, and never looked back, scoring five unanswered goals to make the score 7-2. The Cardinals were never able to come back, although at one point they'd cut the deficit to three in the third quarter before the Tigers put the game out of reach for good.

Kemmis led the Cardinals offense on the day with four goals and an assist, and also pulled up three ground balls. Four other Cardinals had two points on the day, with Sean Donaldson and Ethan Kesselring scoring two goals while Lane Edinger and Brady Mason had a goal and an assist each. Blakeslee had the other goal.

The Cardinals return to action next Wednesday, March 27, at SUNY Geneseo.
