Women’s Lacrosse Stumble On The Road Against Hamilton

CLINTON, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's lacrosse team hit the road on Wednesday for a road matchup against Hamilton College. Despite an early lead, the Cardinals allowed six unanswered goals that pushed them to an 11-5 loss, moving their record to 0-4 on the year.

After trailing 1-0, Hanna Kumpf and Sydney Carpenter scored back-to-back goals to give the team their only lead of the game at 2-1. Hamilton tallied a pair of their own goals to take a one goal advantage, but Cara Landry tied the game at 3-3 at the end of the first quarter. Fisher's defense then allowed six unanswered goals between the second and third quarter. Carpenter put the Cardinals back on the board in the fourth and with 3:21 on the clock Ellie Leisen scored the final goal of the game. Fisher fell by a final of 11-5.

The Cardinals remain on the road on Saturday, Mar. 16 as they travel to Oswego State. The contest is slated for a 12 p.m. start time.
