ITHACA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's lacrosse team battled Ithaca College on the road on Sunday in their second game of the season. The match was back and forth all afternoon and it wasn't decided until the fourth quarter, as the Cardinals fell by a final score of 12-10. Fisher now holds a record of 1-1 on the season.
 
Fisher fell behind 3-0 to start the game, but Sean Donaldson put the team on the board at the 7:33 mark of the first quarter. A minute later, Timmy Salit scored to cut the deficit to one goal as the first frame came to an end. To start the second, the Cardinals kept the momentum going with two goals in under a minute, starting with a Jordan Leuze make just a minute in. 55 seconds later, Matthew Kemmis recorded his first goal of the game to give the team a 4-3 lead. After the Bombers evened the score, Brett Seaman scored a pair of goals to put Fisher in front 6-4. As the half concluded, Kemmis added his second of the day and Fisher went into the break with a 7-6 lead.
 
To start the second half, the Bombers did not go away, evening the score twice early in the third. Goals by Donaldson, Matt Slowinsky and Salit kept the Cardinals in front going into the fourth quarter, 10-9. Fisher was held scoreless in the fourth, while the Bombers tallied three to claim the victory. Kemmis, Donaldson, Seaman and Slowinski all recorded two goals each, with Kemmis adding an assist for three total points. Ben Hammond was in net the entire game and walked away with nine saves.
 
Fisher will play their first game at Growney Stadium on Wednesday, Feb. 28 when they will take on SUNY Cortland. The contest is slated for 4 p.m.
