ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's volleyball team were on the road to take on cross-town rival, Nazareth University. The Cardinals handled their business in the third and fourth set to earn a 3-1 win over the Golden Flyers. Fisher now holds an impressive 15-1 record.
The Cardinals began the game with momentum, going on an 8-0 run to jump ahead 18-7. The teams traded points the rest of the way and Fisher recorded a 25-16 set one win. After dropping the second frame, Fisher once again got off to a hot start in the third. After taking a 10-6 lead, the team used a trio of 3-0 runs to go ahead 19-11. Kills by

Casey Jackson secured the 25-17 set win and 2-1 lead. As the fourth set began,
Griffin Stella and
Gabe La Robardiere put the team in front 5-1 and they did not look back. A 6-1 run increase the lead to 14-7 and a final 6-0 run, ended the set and the match.
Baker continues his impressive season with a 17 kill performance on a .484 hitting percentage. He added 4 total blocks for 21.0 points.
Ian Rauh was the other Cardinal with double-digit kills, finishing with 10 on a .438 clip.
Gavin Newman was strong with his distribution, recording 41 assists and four service aces.
Up next for Fisher is a tri-meet at home on Saturday, Feb. 24. They will welcome Elizabethtown College and SUNY Poly to campus with competition starting at 12 p.m.
