PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's basketball team fell 70-54 to Hamilton College on Saturday evening at Manning and Napier Varsity Gym.
The Cardinals fell to 2-5 overall and lost for the third time in their last four games. Hamilton improved to 7-1 and won its sixth consecutive game, a streak that began back on Nov. 19.
Fisher got off to a strong start, as it led 11-6 through the first four minutes. Senior forward Connor Williams scored seven of the Cardinals' points in that opening stretch, making a 3-pointer and a pair of layups before Hamilton took control.
The Continentals used a 17-0 run over the next 8:12 to take a 23-11 lead. They ended the first half up by nine, 29-20.
Hamilton maintained a comfortable advantage in the second half and gained its largest lead of the contest (24 points) with about six minutes remaining.
Hank Morgan led the Continentals with 15 points on 7 of 13 shooting (1 of 4 from three). Matt Rideout scored 13 points while shooting 6 of 11 (1 of 5 from three), and Garrett Keyhani had 12 while going 4 of 7 from the field and 4 of 5 at the foul line.
Senior forward Eric Kegler, who shot 8 of 17 from the field, led the Cardinals with 21 points. It was his second 20-plus-point performance of the season.
Williams had 13 points on 6 of 10 shooting (1 of 2 from three). No other Fisher player had more than six points.
