PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Senior guards Sidney Tomasso and Kate Moravec each scored 18 points, but the St. John Fisher University women's basketball team fell 59-53 to Ohio Northern on Saturday evening in the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament at Manning and Napier Varsity Gym.
The Cardinals (2-2) have lost their last two games since opening the season 2-0. Ohio Northern improved to 3-0 with the victory.
Fisher faces Wittenberg at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday to close the tournament.

The Cardinals, who trailed by eight at halftime and by 10 at various points in the second half, pulled within four with 4:45 left in the fourth quarter but never closer than that.

Tomasso scored 18 points while shooting 4 of 8 overall, 1 of 4 from three and 9 of 10 from the foul line. She also had four rebounds and a steal.

Moravec scored 18 points on 6 of 13 shooting, including 3 of 6 from three. She went 3 of 4 from the foul line.

Moravec also led Fisher with four assists.

Senior guard Emily McLaughlin pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.

Kristen Luersman led Ohio Northern with 18 points. She shot 7 of 18 overall and 4 of 4 from the foul line.
