PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The St. John Fisher University women's basketball team couldn't sustain a strong start in a 76-67 loss to Wittenberg University on Sunday evening at Manning and Napier Varsity Gym to end the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament.
The Cardinals (2-3) have lost three straight games since starting the season 2-0. Wittenberg won its second straight game and imrpvoed to 2-1.
How It Happened

As part of a dominant start, Fisher forced nine turnovers and cashed in for points on several of those chances en route to a 13-point lead (21-8) in the first quarter.

Senior guard Katie Moravec scored eight points, while junior guard Hannah Ferguson scored seven in the opening frame.

The Cardinals shot 9 of 18 (50%) as a team in the first quarter.

Wittenberg outscored Fisher 26-10 in the second quarter and took a 34-31 lead into halftime.

Wittenberg led by eight after the third quarter and mostly maintained a seven to 10-point lead the rest of the way.

Katie Moravec scored a season-high 21 points while shooting 7 of 13 overall and 7 of 10 from the foul line. She also pulled down 10 rebounds as part of her first career double-double.
