Women’s Basketball races past Elmira, 92-37

ELMIRA, N.Y. – Freshman forward Joleen Lusk led the way with 16 points and seven rebounds as the St. John Fisher University women's basketball team beat the Elmira Eagles, 92-37, on Saturday.

The Cardinals were dominant throughout the game, never trailing and scoring more in the first half (51) than their opponent had the entire game. All 15 team members that played scored at least two points, with four (Lusk, Katie Moravec, Sidney Tomasso, and Presleigh Brunner)  reaching double digits.

Lusk also notched three blocks, while Tomasso added five steals to her 10 points and three assists. Claire Kruszka led with six assists, while sophomore Hannah Ferguson had a career-high seven rebounds off the bench.

The 55-point victory is the Cardinals' second-largest of the season, behind the 85-point (110-25) victory over Penn State Berks.

The Cardinals, now 11-2 overall and 4-0 in the Empire 8, will return to Fisher this Tuesday, January 9, to host Keuka. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
