ALFRED, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's basketball team remained undefeated in the Empire 8 on Friday, defeating the Alfred Saxons 72-56.
Paced by junior guard Sidney Tomasso's 19 points, the Cardinals led the entire game, going into halftime up 37-20 and holding the lead the rest of the way despite being outscored in the third quarter.
Freshman forward Joleen Lusk had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while senior guard Claire Kruszka had 15 points. Defensively, junior Katie Moravec led the team with five steals.
Madeline Ramsgard continued to contribute from the bench, as the freshman guard notched 10 points in relief.
The win was the Cardinals' seventh straight victory, moving their season record to 10-2.
Fisher continues its road trip on Saturday at Elmira. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 P.M.
