Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Hold On Against RIT, 2-1

HENRIETTA, N.Y. -- The St. John Fisher University women's soccer team won at RIT on Wednesday, 2-1, on the strength of a pair of unassisted goals. 
 

The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute, when junior Emma Spelman notched her first goal of the season. Just over 25 minutes of gametime later, in the 50th minute, fellow junior Siobhan McMakin made it 2-0 with her second score of the season.

 

RIT narrowed the score to 2-1 on a Natalie Faiola goal in the 78th minute, but the Cardinals held on for the win. 

 

Sophomore Avery Byrnes had seven saves in the win. 

 

Fisher returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 16, as they begin conference play with a road game at the Alfred Saxons. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
