PITTSFORD, NY – The St. John Fisher University Women's Track and Field team stayed home as they competed in day one of the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championship. The three-day meet is being hosted by St. John Fisher and is taking place at Polisseni T&F Complex.
Discus
Starting the day for the Cardinals,
Makenna King competed in the discus throw. King threw 42.30m, placing 15
th out of 22 throwers. The mark came in her third and final attempt of the morning.
Long Jump
Next on the field,
Michaela Kurbs and
Veronica Duell competed in the long jump. In a field of 22 jumpers, Kurbs jumped 5.67m, placing 12
th overall. Duell jumped 5.50m, placing 16
th overall.
Up next, the Cardinals continue to compete in the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championship. The three-day event will pick back up on Friday, May 26 at 10 a.m. The Cardinals will see
Samantha Shea compete in the 400m race and
Ciarra Franz compete in the 100m hurdles.
