PITTSFORD, N.Y. – All Region honors for the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Friday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.
 
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
 
On the women's side, the 4x100m Relay team is no. 3 in the region. The team of Michaela Kurbs, Samantha Shea, Zhane Lettsome and Ciarra Franz ran a time of 47.71 in the Empire 8 Outdoor Championship.
 
Kurbs, Shea and Franz all earned additional recognition.
 
Kurbs excelled in the long-jump, reaching a distance of 5.93m in the Empire Outdoor Championship for no. 2 in the region and no. 4 in the nation. In front of her is teammate Veronica Duell who also earned All-Region in the long-jump. She sits no. 1 in the region and no. 3 in the nation with a leap of 5.97m, which she hit in the Cardinals Classic.
 
Shea showed her ability in the 400m race with a time of 56.59 in the AARTFC Outdoor Championships, earning her no. 5 in the region.
 
Franz is top-5 in both 100m and 100m hurdles. With her time of 12.26 in the Empire 8 Championships, it earned her the no. 5 spot in the region. In the same competition, Franz hit a time of 14.16 in the 100m hurdles and takes the no. 4 position.
 
In the field, Makenna King launched herself into top-5 position in the shot put and discus throw with her showing in the CNY Fast Chance Meet. King sits in the no. 2 spot in the shot put with a throw of 13.73m and no. 1 in the discus with a toss of 44.87m.
 
Up next, Fisher will return home, as the Cardinals host the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championship. The three-day event will take place at Polisseni T&F Complex and will be from Thursday, May 25 – Saturday, May 27.
