SELINSGROVE, PA – The St. John Fisher Men's Track and Field team traveled to Selinsgrove, PA, as they competed in day two of the 2023 AARTFC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day meet is being hosted by Susquehanna University. With the conclusion of day two, the Cardinals finished 23rd out of 60 teams with 15 points.
On the Track
On the track,
Myles Andersen competed in the 800m. Andersen ran 1:59.24, finishing 32nd overall.
Right after,
John Ruggio competed in the 400m hurdles. Ruggio ran 55.96, finishing 18th overall.
Ending the day on the track, the team of Andersen,
Peter Briggs, Tony DiRubbo, and
Dylan Esquivel competed in the 4x800m relay. The team ran 8:11.49, finishing 18th overall.
On the Field
Starting the day out strong for Fisher,
Sean Cochrane and
Bryant DePaull competed in the high jump. Cochrane jumped 2.01m, placing second overall and scoring eight points. DePaull jumped 1.86m, tying for 20th overall.
Later in the meet,
Jack Bickford competed in the hammer throw. Bickford threw 47.06m, placing 24th overall.
Last on the field,
Ivan Lopez-Testillano jumped in the triple jump. Lopez-Testillano jumped 14.37m, placing third overall and scoring six points for the Cardinals.
Decathlon
During the two-day competition,
Josiah Bowers competed in the decathlon. Bowers scored 5235 points, finishing eighth overall and scoring one point for the Cardinals. Bowers' best event came in the javelin throw, where he threw 41.28m, placing second in that event.
Up next, Fisher will return home, as the Cardinals host the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championship. The three-day event will take place at Polisseni T&F Complex and will be from Thursday, May 25 – Saturday, May 27.
