PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's tennis team was at home on Friday, as they hosted Oswego State. The Cardinals celebrated their two seniors prior to the competition. It was a competitive battle that ended with Fisher falling to Lakers, 6-3.
In the opening doubles matches, the Cardinals went 1-2. The victory came convincingly by the duo of
Ryan Wilson and
Zach DeCaro, who won the match 8-1.
Anthony Molosag and Will Chub battled hard in their match and it went into a tiebreaker that they eventually dropped and fell by a score of 8-7.
In the singles matches,
Sean Danahy and DeCaro both earned victories. Danahy took two out of three coming back from a first set defeat to take the second set 6-1 and third set, 7-5. DeCaro earned his victory in straight sets, taking the first 7-6 and the next, 6-1. Fisher was unable to string together other victories and fell by a 6-3 final.
The Cardinals will remain at home on Saturday, April 8 when they host Nazareth College. The match will take place at 1 p.m. and Mendon Racquet Club.
