Men’s Track & Field Compete in Day Two of Cardinal Classic Invite

PITTSFORD, NY – The St. John Fisher Men's Track and Field team stayed home as they hosted day two of the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic Invitational. Day two took place at the Polisseni T&F Complex and Murphy Throws Complex.

On the Track

Starting the day on the track, the team of Curtis Cuvilly, Cole Ferris, Brady Bishop, and Trenton Wynn competed in the 4x100m relay. The team ran 43.21, placing third overall and moving up to second in the conference.

Next on the track, Joshua Sandoval competed in the 3000m steeplechase. Sandoval ran 11:21.71, placing seventh overall.

Right after, Fisher competed in the 110m hurdles. John Ruggio ran 16.16, placing eighth and qualifying for the final round. In the finals, Ruggio ran 15.68, placing third overall and moving up to third in the conference.

In the first round of the 100m, Cuvilly ran 11.16, placing fourth and moving on to the finals. Bishop ran 11.33, placing 14th and advancing to the final round. Ivan Lopez-Testillano ran 11.42, placing 19th and qualifying for the E8 Championships. In the finals, Cuvilly ran 11.26, placing third overall. Bishop finished right behind, taking fourth with a time of 11.28.

Later, multiple Cardinals competed in the 400m. Luke Defio ran 53.13, placing 26th overall. Myles Andersen ran 54.23, placing 33rd. Right behind, Peter Briggs ran 54.27, placing 34th overall. All three runners ran E8 Championship qualifying times.
In the 400m hurdles, Wynn ran 1:00.70, qualifying for the E8 Championships.

Next up, Fisher competed in the 200m. Ferris ran 23.08, placing ninth overall.

Last on the track, the team of Reid Hooker, Tony DiRubbo, Myles Andersen, and Riley Nash competed in the 4x800m relay. The team ran 8:27.33, placing second overall and moving up to first in the conference.

On the Field

Competing in the pole vault, Adam Palmer jumped 3.55m, placing ninth overall.

In the high jump, Sean Cochrane jumped 1.91m, placing third overall.

The hammer throw invitational saw Brandon Kaplan throw 47.01m, placing ninth overall.

Up next, qualifying Cardinals will be traveling to Utica, NY as they compete in the Empire 8 Championship. The two-day event will be hosted by Utica University and will take place on Friday, May. 5, and Saturday, May 6.
