PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University track and field team were at home on Friday to begin the Cardinal Classic Invite. The Cardinals hosted a variety of teams for open throws. The competition will continued on Saturday, April 28 with the first event going off at 9:15.
 
Sean Cochrane recorded a mark of 43.06m in his second attempt, which was enough to take home the first place finish. In the Hammer throw, Gavin Grinnell, Bryce Grove and Ethan Denzak claimed the top three places. Denzak finished third with a throw of 29.13m, Grove claimed second with a toss of 26.45 and Grinnell earned the top spot after hitting 38.28 in his final attempt.
 
Grove and Grinnel swamped placements in the discus, with Grove claiming first place (35.72) and Grinnell coming in second (33.22). Jack Bickford finished in third in the discus, throwing a distance of 29.28 in his second attempt.
