PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher Men's Tennis team wrapped up their regular season over the weekend, with back-to-back home contests against Utica University and Houghton University. The Cardinals split the two matches, beginning with a 7-2 victory over the Pioneers and ending with a 9-0 loss to the top team in the conference, Highlanders.
 
Fisher started by winning two out of three doubles matches against Utica. The team of Jake Anthony and Sean Danahy defeated their opposition 8-3, before Zach DeCaro and Will Chubb earned a win by default. In the singles matches, Danahy, Anthony, Chubb, Nick Licciarddello, Ryand Wilson all wont. Danahy was the only player to take more than two sets, going into the third set before winning 10-6.
 
Against the Highlanders, the Cardinals lost 9-0. The battled in doubles, with Anthony Molosag and Licciarddello going into a tiebreaker before falling 8-7. Chubb took his opponent to three sets, claiming the first 6-3 before dropping the following two.
 
The Cardinals clinched the no. 3 seed in the Empire 8 tournament which will take place at Hough University on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29.
