PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's tennis team were at home on Friday and hosted Alfred University. The Cardinals were able to defeat the Saxons handily, claiming the victory 9-0 to move their record to 2-2 on the season.
In their sweep of the double matches,
Sean Danahy partnered with
Jake Anthony for a 8-0 win, followed by the duo of
Nick Licciarddello and
Anthony Molosag wining their match 8-3. The third doubles match was another 8-0 win, this time by
Will Chubb and
Zach DeCaro.
The Cardinals continued their momentum in the singles matches, starting with Danahy winning straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.
Ryan Wilson and Licciarddello also won by the same score in their matches. Anthony, took his singles win without surrendering a game, going 6-0, 6-0. Chub had a battle in his second set victory, but still game away with a win, taking his first set 6-2 followed by a 7-5 win in set two. Molosag was victorious by a score of 6-2, 6-1.
Fisher is back in action on Wednesday, March 29 as they stay local and travel to take on RIT. The competition is slated for a 3:30 p.m. start time.
