Women’s Track & Field Compete in Day One of 2023 NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships

BIRMINGHAM, A.L. – The St. John Fisher Women's Track and Field team traveled to Birmingham, A.L., to compete in day one of the 2023 NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet took place on Friday and was hosted at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

On the Field
Starting out the day for the Cardinals were Veronica Duell and Michaela Kurbs in the long jump. Duell jumped 5.50m for 10th overall. Kurbs jumped 5.39m, placing 16th overall.

On the Track
In the preliminary round of the 400m, Samantha Shea ran 56.82 to place 8th and qualify for the finals on Saturday.

Next up for the Cardinals is day two of the 2023 NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships. Day two will be hosted at the Birmingham CrossPlex and will take place on Saturday, Mar. 11 with events beginning at 11 a.m.
