BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's Track and Field team traveled to SUNY Brockport to compete in the Brockport – Multi Invite. The meet took place on Friday and Saturday and was hosted by SUNY Brockport. As a team, the women placed 5th out of 19 teams.
Pentathlon
Logan Fredrickson scored 2225 points in the pentathlon, placing her 12
th overall. Fredrickson's best performance came from the shot put, where she threw 8.06m to place 7
th. Her score qualifies her for the Empire 8 Championship meet and puts her third overall on the leaderboard.
On the Track
Saturday started out with the 60m hurdles, seeing
Ciarra Franz place 1
st in the qualifying round, running 9.15.
Hayly Fredrickson also had a strong performance, running 10.72 to place 9
th overall. In the finals, Franz ran 9.21 to place 1
st overall.
In the 5000m,
Lauren Almy ran 19:59.48 to place 6
th overall.
Sophia Prouty had a strong performance, running 20:48.85 to place 8
th and it qualifies her for the Empire 8 championship meet.
Audrey Carragher was not far behind, running 20:51.31 to place 9
th overall. Almy, Prouty and Carragher all hit PR's with their performances today.
Abigail Perry closed it out for the Cardinals, running 21:30.05 to place 10
th and qualifies her for the E8 championship meet.
In the 60m qualifying round,
Zhane Lettsome ran 8.18 to place 6
th and qualify for the finals. Right with her,
Isabelle Rowley ran 8.23 to place 7
th and also move to the finals.
Lilyan Humphrey had a strong race, finishing 10
th overall with a time of 8.37.
Brenda Le was right behind her, running 8.41 to qualify her for the E8 championship meet. In the finals, Lettsome ran 8.10 to place 5
th overall and Rowley ran 8.16 to place 6
th.
The mile saw
Laura Witt run 5:25.66, placing 2
nd overall and qualifying for the E8 championship meet, putting her 2
nd on the leader board. This is a 24 second PR for Witt.
Sabrina Antonini also had a strong performance, running 5:51.22 to qualify for the E8 championship meet.
In the 400m,
Emma Wright ran 1:02.57 to place 7
th overall and move her to fifth on the E8 leader board.
The 800m saw
Lauren DeMichele tie for 10
th overall, running 2:28.00. Her performance qualifies her for the E8 championship meet and puts her fourth on the leader board. Not far behind, was
Olivia Grinnell, running 2:32.04 and qualifying her for the E8 championship meet.
Samantha Shea had a great performance in the 200m, running 26.42 to place 4
th overall.
Paige Lundgren ran 28.93, qualifying her for the E8 championship meet.
In the 3000m, Caitlin Voleshen ran 10:58.93 to place 8
th. Her time moves her up to sixth overall on the E8 leader board.
The day ended with
Riley Jameson, Grinnell, DeMichele, and Maggie Dolloff running the 4x400m. The team ran 4:45.39 to place 4
th overall.
In the Field
In the shot put,
Alyson Witt threw 8.70m, qualifying her for the E8 championship meet.
In the high jump,
Claudia Vogel jumped 1.49m to place 7
th overall.
The long jump was full of strong performances, with
Michaela Kurbs breaking the Cardinal's long jump record. Her mark of 5.66m placed her 2
nd and moves her to first on the E8 leader board.
Veronica Duell jumped 5.58m to place 4
th.
Next up for the Cardinals, are two meets. Some athletes will be traveling to Boston, MA to compete in the Valentine Classic Invite, hosted by Boston University. The meet will be on Feb. 10-11. Other athletes will be staying local, competing in the RIT Invite on Friday, Feb. 10.
