Terre Haeute, IN – The St. John Fisher University men's basketball team took on Millikin University in their final competition of 2023. Unfortunately, they head into the break with a 78-79 loss to the Big Blue.
The Cardinals held an early advantage with makes by
Brendan McRoy and
Connor Recore. Millikin bounced back and the two teams began to trade leads and even the game. Joe Morrel and
Jack Foley both hit threes to keep the score to within striking distance, and two late free-throws by
Daniel Cook made the deficit, 38-35, going into half-time. Fisher reclaimed the lead early in the second half with Foley knocking down a three to tie the game and then Cook laying in the go ahead bucket. Millikin once again pushed back to reclaim the lead, and the Cardinal could not complete the comeback.
McRoy led the way with 19 points, with Cook adding 17 points of his own to go with eight rebounds and three steals.
