HUNTINGTON, PA – The St. John Fisher University women's volleyball team were on the road on Friday to take on #23 Ithaca College in the Wid Guisler Invite hosted by Juniata College. The matchup did not go the Cardinals way as they dropped the game 3-0 against the Bombers. Fisher now holds a record of 17-10 on the year.

The Cardinals fell behind in the first set 7-3, but after a mistake by Ithaca, Fisher initiated a 6-0 run. Two service aces by
Kaylene Noble was followed by kills by
Delayne Young and
Kristen McIntosh, which put the team in front 9-7. The two proceeded to trade points until the Bombers jumped ahead 17-12. Kills by Noble and
Adeline Phillips brought the Cardinals back to within two points, but it was not enough as they dropped the first set, 25-21.

In the second set, Fisher had an early lead off back-to-back aces by Young, but a run by Ithaca made that lead short lived. The Cardinals battled to keep the score close thanks to a kill by McIntosh and
Olivia Nellis, but the Bombers went on a run that created a 23-11 deficit for Fisher. The team scored five consecutive points, but it was not enough as Ithaca claimed the second set. In the third set, the two teams traded early runs and Fisher trailed 13-12, before a long run by Ithaca put the match away.

Noble tallied six kills, with Nellis adding four of her own.
Reilly Morrow recorded 14 assists to go along with four digs and four assists. Young had three aces of her own, in addition to three kills and five digs.
Up next for the Cardinals is a match with the hosts, Juniata College who are currently ranked #1 in the nation. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
