Cardinals Unable To Complete Comeback Against Tartans

PITTSBURGH, PA – The St. John Fisher University Men's Basketball team were on the road on Tuesday to take on Carnegie Mellon University. After a tough first-half, the Cardinals bounced back in the second, but it was not enough as they fell by a final score of 103-92.
 
Fisher was outscored 51-26 in the opening frame. To start the second half, they found themselves down by 31 with 18:21 to play. They began to chip away at the deficit off a Jack Foley three-pointer and Brendan McRoy jump-shot to cut it to 24. With 7:26 on the clock, Joe Morrell knocked down a three of his own to put the score at 84-66. Later, back-to-back layups by Daniel Cook brought the deficit to 14, before makes by Matt Panara and Josh Lopez put the Cardinals behind by 10 points. With a minute to play, Cook made a fast break jumper to bring the score to 98-90. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the comeback and fell by a final score of 103-92.
 
Cook impressed with a season high 35 points, shooting 16-for-28 from the field, while collecting eight rebounds and tallying four steals.
 
Up next for Fisher is the start of Empire 8 play with a trip to Hartwick College on Friday, Dec. 1 with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
