PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's basketball team are set to host this years edition of the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout. The Cardinals welcome the University of Rochester, RIT and Nazareth University for a two day event.

Save Money, Bring A Toy!
Tickets will cost $5 for adults and $1 for students. However, if anyone bring a toy donation will be admitted free of charge! The Crosstown Shootout will be a toy drive for Mary's Place Refugee Outreach. The toys should be new, for ages 5-15 and unwrapped. Some suggestions are board and educational games, both/body products, stuffed animals and dolls, and new warm weather accessories.
Last Season's Tournament
The Cardinals fell to the Yellowjackets, 81-76, in the first round of games, but bounced back nicely with an 89-81 victory over RIT. Ryan Algier of UofR was named MVP as the team won both games, while Naz split their two games and RIT dropped both.
The only starters that are back for the Cardinals from last season's tournament is forward
Daniel Cook, forward,
Jack Foley and Forward
Connor Recore. In the matchup against Rochester, Cook and Foley combined for 32 points and 14 rebounds, with Recore coming off the bench. In the game against RIT, Cook was out, while Foley started and scored eight points.
Checking In On The Locals
The Tigers are coming off of a 91-64 season opening win over Wells College on Tuesday. Kenny Wilburn began his senior season with a 32 point, 10 rebound double-double to lead the team. Junior guards Brock Bowen and Chase Dickens each finished in double-digit scoring with 15 points and 13 points respectively.
The Yellowjackets are 1-1 this season, tallying a 78-60 loss against The College of Wooster, before knocking off Maryville College, 87-66. Logan Jagodzinski leads the team in scoring with 13.5 points and rebounds with 6.0. Tomiwa is the second leading scorer with 11.5 points and averaged 4.5 rebounds per game. Rochester also has three other players that have contributed an average of 8.5 points per game.
