CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Two-time defending champion St. John Fisher University holds a 24-stroke lead after the first two rounds of the 2023-24 Empire 8 Men's Golf Championship, held at Cazenovia Country Club in Cazenovia, NY on Sunday, Oct. 8 and Monday Oct. 9.
The Cardinals have a team score of 615 strokes to lead second place SUNY Oswego (639), while Utica University is third overall with a team score of 646 strokes. Fisher junior
Bryce Barber, the 2021-22 E8 Champion, holds the individual lead after the first 36 holes, with a 10-over-par score of 152 strokes. He shot a four-over-par 75 in the opening round Sunday and six-over-par 77 in the second round Monday. Barber holds a two-stroke lead over teammates
Luke Buckley and
Benjamin Fox.
The 2023-24 league champion is determined from results of the Fall Championship, followed up by the 36-hole Spring Championship, which will take place on April 13-14, 2024 at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA. The 2023-24 Empire 8 Champion receives an automatic berth into the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, set for May 14-17 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, NV.
